String Band Clubs
A unique lesson program for students or families to learn Acoustic Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Mt. Dulcimer, Fiddle, or Hammer Dulcimer. Students will not only learn how to play an instrument, but also learn how to play in a string band with other students and/or family members. For these smaller group lessons, we come to you, offering a substantial discount over standard private lessons. The hour-long lessons are taught on a "Round Robin" format with each learning center supervised by an adult. Overall instruction and supervision is by Brett and Serenity Ridgeway.
BENEFITS:
Each member will learn at least one traditional stringed instrument and have the opportunity to learn other instruments as well.We will teach in a traditional method with no need to read music or have any previous musical ability. This program is perfect for the musically inept. If you think you cannot learn to play an instrument, this program is for you!
Each participant will learn to play lead, rhythm, and back-up.Participants will learn to play in a string band with other students or as a family.
We will provide performance venues, open mics, etc., helping each participant to play and perform in front of others. We will specifically work to help each participant overcome the fear of playing, performing, and public speaking. This allows a great opportunity for students and families to minister in school, nursing homes, or their local church, etc.Participants will learn to take care of an instrument. They will learn how to change strings, tune, etc.** Flat Rate Billing:
String Band Club members pay a monthly tuition of $45.00. Tuition payments are due on or prior to taking the first lesson of the month. There will be no cash refunds for lessons once the month has begun.
** Family Discounts:
We have many families with multiple family members taking lessons. For those families, the first family member will pay full tuition of $45.00. The second family member pay $40 and each subsequent family member will pay a monthly tuition rate of $35. Five week months and holiday months, limited snow days are already figured in to the flat rate billing price.
** Teacher Discounts
Adults and teachers are vital to this program. Each teacher will also be learning to play an instrument and help teach what they are learning to their students. The teacher's rate is $20 per month.
** Missed Lessons
When a student misses a lesson there will be no refunds. It will be the student's responsibility to schedule a make-up lesson if they feel it is necessary. Make-up lessons are a half-hour long and will cost $20 as this is a private lesson.
