Jim Beck, Willowick, Oh The entire focus of this workshop will center around Christmas Carols so that by the time the holidays roll around, you will have your carols mastered and ready to play!
BUT...YOU WILL LEARN A WHOLE LOT MORE!
This will be a comprehensive workshop with a very strong emphasis on embellishing with plently of material to take home and work with. The course will also include a workbook that will be used throughout the workshop.
Workshop Subjects will include:
* Embellishment Techniques - Taking a simple melody line and "fancifying" it!
* Rhythm Techniques
* Finding & Using Drones, Harmony Notes & Octaves in Embellishing
* Finding Chords and Chord Patterns and using them to embellish and fill-in
* Syncopation - Nifty "licks" that will open new doors of playing!
* Playing Chords and Back-up
* Left Hand / Right Hand Lead
* Dynamics including Exerices and Techniques to strengthen the less-dominant hand
* Using Rolls, Grace Notes and Flams in Embellishment
* Proper care for your instrument

**If you are commuting to and from the workshop, there is a $2.00 per day visitor's fee.**
Christmas Pines Campground is an absolutely wonderful place to stay with plenty to do for other family members not involved in the workshop!
